Church vs Government - Who's more violent?
Some seem to have issues with recognizing violence.

No church has ever forced me into one of their buildings or forced me to give them money. Churches just pass around a basket on weekends for voluntary donations from their voluntary attendees. Can you say that about the 'government?'

Didn't you ever hear of the IRS? or the compulsory date of April 15th? If you don't hand over your money to the 'government' when they demand it then the escalation of violence will continue until finally men with guns with hunt you down.

Church is voluntary. Government is compulsory.

Who said governments are not violent?

And no, church is not voluntary, at least not here. Going to church is compulsory for schools in Greece. Also, you can't get married or baptize your kid without paying the priest.

Plus, if the church paid taxes, we could probably solve every single problem in the country.

I know, that's not violence, but it's not exactly voluntary either.

Church is voluntary. Government is compulsory.

Maybe in your country that's the case, but it is not universally true.

And religion was compulsory all through Europe until rather recently. It was also compulsory in many of the American colonies.

Forced YOU, sure. Are you talking historically or currently?

Yes, Government has more power and exerts more political and social force around the world these days. I think the problem is that you think this is something people are innately against government for... for it's forcing action implications.

so these churches that allegedly use force, how do they force people? What do they do?

We know 'government' has armies of men with guns willing to hunt down people down and whack them or lock them up into prisons.
