Yes, I've always had an affinity for the Moonlight sonata. But my main love is Soundtrack music.

I listen to classical music as well. Practically everything that either has an interesting melody or an intriguing mood/atmosphere or an emotion.

There are also a lot classical songs that are not interesting at all (in my opinion) which on the other hand do serve as great background music. From the moment the song gets too interesting either because of the melody or the feeling it brings, i can't study with it. In that case I use this kind of classical music so for not getting distracted from my work.

The stuff that i find interesting usually comes from Chopin, Eric Satie, J.S. Bach, Carl Philippe Emmanuel Bach, also a bit of Vivaldi, Mozart's violin and piano sonata's, Edvard Grieg, Beethoven's famous work but not really his other work, Tchaikovsky, Mendelssohn, Moviesoundtracks, etc..

My all-time favourite piece is "Danse Macabre" from Camille Saint-Saëns (i'm glad someone else likes it too ). It's Because it has a very interesting melody, a cool theme, it creates a great and intriguing atmosphere and it has an awesome finale. The fact that it's also the theme song for a certain ghost-attraction in a themepark i've been going to from since i was a little toddler might also have something to do with it. But I still think it's brilliant and i never get sick of hearing it.

I'm also trying to listen to a bit to opera. I find it pretty hard to get used to, but a song that i'm really starting to enjoy listening to is "Vesti La Giubba" from the opera piece "Pagliacci" from Ruggero Leoncavallo. It's a very touching and dramatic song, especially when you read the translation of the very well written lyrics.

So yes, i'm kinda into classical. I still listen to other music as well though.

I haven't listening to classical in a while, but I do love it. My favorites are Beethoven and any Russian composers.

I love classical music, by which I mean anything that was written before the late 19th century, and not actually referring to the musical period between the Baroque and the Romantic.

I even love religious music, not because of the beauty of the lyrics of course, but rather due to the harmonies and melodies that seek to elevate them. Take the Rachmaninoff Vespers for example. Stunningly beautiful in spite of the subject matter. Ditto with almost any Requiem (or Mass for that matter). Palestrina, Bach, DuFay, Tallis, Duruflé, Rutter...gorgeous music in spite of what it represents.

In fact, one of my goals in life is to create music of this kind without the whole god baggage.
