Classical and Instrumental Music Thread
I like all kinds of music from all different genres. As I have gotten older though, as a continual evolution towards pompous exclusivity and cynicism Tongue, I have found I appreciate the classical pieces probably best of all. There is something about out a song that can stand up by itself, without a lyric component to give it direction and meaning. I don't mean without vocal, I mean the words in the song are of little or no consequence to the spirit of the piece.

One of the other cool things about instrumental music is it tends to translate well across culture and irregardless of language. Also, in my opinion, music for musics sake tends to be the most powerful and impactful on a person, at least to my ear. Anyway, I am always on the look out for new good music so I thought I might share some of my favorites, and invite you all to share some of yours.

I am a HUGE beethoven fan. He is easily my favorite artist ever and this is my favorite song he did. Its really slow, but his use of timing and rich, full notes as absolutely divine. Been brought to tears several times listening to this Sadcryface .

A bit more contemporary, dark side of the moon, in my opinion, one of the best rock albums of all time. This piece on it is one of my favorite all time songs. Worthy of the term "bitchen".

If you haven't heard of the Trans Siberian Orchestra, then you are in for a treat! I like their rock reamagining of a lot of classics, and the take they do on Beethovens Symphony no. 5 might just be as good as the original.

One of numerous examples of the brilliant polyphonic pieces from Africa. This is actually a genre I am really interested in exploring more. One that might sound vaguely familiar to fans of the lion king:

I have a lot more I can share and I will add them in as I remember them. What about you guys? Share the love!

In the first video, I was waiting eagerly for the smashing of cellos at the end.

Me so disappoint. Weeping
