Um.... The Russians didn't suddenly become a nation of alcoholics in 1917.
Disparity of living standards and dearth of opportunities tends to correlate with substance abuse and domestic violence. Something to do with frustration? I haven't checked the American stats, but wouldn't be at all surprised to find a rise in alcohol and drug use rising parallel with unemployment and the number of zeroes in the incomes of the top 1%.

VODKA....

Famous joke about Russian vodka:

A train suddenly stops in the middle of Siberia. The conductor on the last coach gets off and shouts forward to the engineer: "Why did we stop, Ivan Ivanovich?"

The engineer shouts back: "We are exchanging engine, Sergey Sergeyevich!"

Conductor: "What for, Ivan Ivanovich?"

Engineer: "For VODKA, Sergey Sergeyevich!"

Well,Religion is not exactly a fitting word but...You were supposed stay loyal and ''worship'' only the USSR.

I believe the only radical political system close to being a religion is North Korea and...

The United States. People desperately want this to be a Christian nation and if it continues, we will definitely be the opposite of what we tried to be. I want to see what others think of this video and I warn you, it is mankind at its most unintelligent(Or at mankind's most religious I could say.)

On communism, I believe any political system can be great if used correctly. Of course any system can be ruined by those in power.

Sorry, I just wanted to share this video and saw Denicio mention Obama being called a Muslim. I absolutely agree its a word used to replace the N word and those who use it are more dissatisfied with his race than any of his political moves.

"Mankind must put an end to war, or war will put an end to mankind." -John F Kennedy

The way to see by Faith is to shut the eye of Reason.” -Benjamin Franklin

It has been a long time. How have you been?

The fact that you put "worship" in quotes shows that religion isn't at all the fitting word.
Every nation demands patriotism and loyalty (and will shoot you dead if you run away from any stupid battle they drop your ass into); every god demands worship and ritual (and will damn you for eternity if you mess up bad enough). No quotation marks, just the actual grovelling in the appropriate building in front of the designated icon.

Lots of political leaders have aspired to godhood; very few get recognition past the last moment they can command a massacre. People usually start pulling down the statues before the corpse is cold. Genuine worship has at least a small voluntary element - something of awe and hope - as well as fear and dread. With persons deemed by the populace to be divine, the worship continues - intensifies, usually - long beyond their death.

If you pray to anything, you're prey to anything.
