When I was a kid and teen everyone was out listening to rock or heavy metal and I was listening to old Big Band music, old standards from the 30's 40's and 50's, Broadway musicals, Frank Sinatra and Peggy Lee. Either that or classical music. I hid it from my friends for fear that would laugh at me.

I discovered Barbra Streisand when I was around 15 and bought all her old albums. I love her version of Silent Night. She sang it in June 1967 during a summer concert in Central Park. 135,000 people showed up in the middle of summer for the concert and it was one of the few times that that many people had gathered without rioting or protesting the war so she sang Silent Night as a peace song, not a religious song. That's the backstory to this summer Silent Night song.

Ah yes. Nice to hear a nice Jewish girl singing Christmas carols. Facepalm

Tongue

As a Jewish girl she put a different spin on it. I liked that.

I also talk to our dog. Often. She's a really good listener. Smile

And I think it's awesome you are bendy enough to bite your own toenails, jenny bee Smile
My husband is a yoga nut (a yut, as I call him) and I am jealous of his flexibility.

I definitely think it's the melody of Silent Night that I find so relaxing. It's like a lullaby.

Keep the confessions coming!

RE: Confession time.
I've had "O Holy Night" stuck in my head since November 28th.

Need to think of a witty signature.

RE: Confession time.
I also like this Christmas song by Harry Connick Jr. I think he wrote it. I like the tune and the beat but the praying stuff is dumb. I have a couple Harry Connick Jr. albums on my I phone. He's kinda my speed.

Another confession.....I chew my nails. Not down to the quick or anything. I just bite at them, it's a nervous habit.

RE: Confession time.
I also like Silent Night, along with many other religious Christmas songs. It's the secular ones (Jingle Bells, Frosty the Snowman, etc.) that drive me crazy -- except for Silver Bells. I love that one.

I like Barbra Streisand -- her singing, her acting, everything. And when she was young, she was incredibly beautiful in an exotic sort of way.

I have never been flexible enough to get my mouth anywhere near my toenails (these days, tying my shoes is an accomplishment), but I have always bitten my fingernails, and still do.

I am heterosexual and attracted to women, but I have never gotten turned on by porn, strippers, Playboy centerfolds, etc. I prefer normal women, and am generally more interested in their faces than their bodies (although a nice body is a plus). Whenever I come across an issue of Playboy, the first thing I do is look for interesting articles, interviews, etc. Really.

RE: Confession time.
I love O Holy Night especially the Kelly Clarkson version, there isn't a secular Xmas song that has a dramatic part like "Faaaaal on your Kneeees!" But for the secular side I love Santa Claus is Coming to Town, especially the line "So be good for goodness sake." It's like yeah, we should be good for the sake of being good, not just because we'll be rewarded later...you know? *wink* *wink* *nudge* *nudge*

I can confess that of all the shows that are on winter break I miss Gotham the most, it's not the most well written or best acted or whatever but it's so melodramatic and every episode moves the plot forward in the most ridiculous ways and I just sit there jaw dropped or laughing or crying...yeah it can be really heart breaking. Please come back Gotham!

RE: Confession time.
My eyes leak a little every time I hear Elvis' Love Me Tender. If it ever comes on when I just don't want to be seen with tears in my eyes I'll change the station or leave the room immediately even though I love that song.

BONUS CONFESSION:
My girlfriend walked in and busted me humming the song from the Smurfs this morning while showering. I thought she was downstairs. Blush

I just wanted to let you know that I love you even though you aren't naked right now. Heart

RE: Confession time.
I watched "home alone" a few days ago : not because it was on TV, because I chose to watch it, and I still found it quite fun

You need to pick up a copy of Playgirl and see if the articles interest you. Some people don't find out until later in life.
