I am more into ships

Bismarck

Kongo
Nagato
Akagi (in work)

I have the HMS Hood in my stash. Smile

If you havent done this for a long time (like i did too), then dont start with your "precious" right away. Try 1-2 projects in advance to learn and get your skills and tools back up.
Make use of add-ons like (brass) detail sets etc. They can add a lot to your models.
Be patient, dont set your goals too high (ive seen dioramas... Jesus F. Christ!).

It took me 3 years (1y/ship) to get to this, but the result always inspires me (i fixed the background in the meantime).

Born in 1954, hence my request for the 1974 model.

I'd die with a silly grin on my face. Cool

Anyone doing the Yamato, in the scale they have at Kure? 1/10, IIRC.

RE: Considering becoming a model builder again.
I just began going through my stash. I have some great kits.

I found some unfinished builds from back in 1999!

RE: Considering becoming a model builder again.
I'd like to get busy on my next model build --- I'm planning on building a fixed wing, pusher prop, tricycle landing gear video camera plane.....

I picked up a nice Saito .70 four stroke and some balsa and basswood at the last swap meet -- and a new wide spectrum 6 channel Futaba radio --- but with all the other stuff I've got to do, I haven't cut piece of wood one yet......

.....

Today's project --- a 50 foot overhead crane for my barn. I picked up the 11 inch "I" beam - two 25 foot pieces --and the steel to join them. Have the electric hoist (new in box) --- total cost -under 200 bucks. I got the I beam, and the hoist at two different garage sales - for $135 total. I gotta get out and finish welding the overhead support brackets today - then start joining the two 25ft pieces. (they have to bolt together - so they can be taken apart, to get them up into the barn. Probably going to be at this one for a couple weeks at least.

Dunno how I ever got shit done, before I retired...........

.......................................

The difference between prayer and masturbation - is when a guy is through masturbating - he has something to show for his efforts.

As you know I spend 90% of my time alone annoying you poor devils. So I have been thinking about building models again. I've not built one since the 90's when my back recovered and I turned back to my musical career. But I basically have boxes of models stacked away.

Some may have seen a few of the photos of some I built back then. Such as these.

What do you think? Perhaps I could sell the builds on Ebay?

Unopened boxes from the 90s may well fetch you more ducats.
