Cops Patiently Wait For Excuse To Execute Man
Cops Patiently Wait For Excuse To Execute Man (VIDEO)

There was a failed bank robbery in Miami. The would-be robber got no money, then wandered into a barber shop next door where he grabbed a straight razor. He stood outside and yelled at multiple heavily armed police officers. He waived the razor in the air, as crazy people sometimes do, while making no movement toward any of the officers. Knowing he or she was now legally in the clear, at least one cop took the opportunity to fire. Cenk Uygur, host of the The Young Turks, breaks it down. Tell us what you think in the comment section below.

"Miami Beach police fatally shot a man suspected of holding up a bank Saturday in a graphic encounter that was caught on camera.

Police say the man walked into a Bank of America branch around 10:30 a.m. that morning and passed a note to the teller stating he had a bomb.

“My understanding is that he did not get any proceeds," Miami Beach Police Chief Daniel Oates told reporters in a press conference Saturday. "He did not get any money.”

After the man left the bank empty-handed, police found him at a barbershop a block away from the bank and he "remained there for a period of time," Oates said.
When the man emerged, he had removed his shirt and was holding a straight razor, the police chief said.

“He was challenged by the officers in the street, and at some point during that confrontation, he raised his hand with a straight edged razor in it and he was shot,” Oates said.

In a graphic and disturbing video taken across the street from the incident, the man can be seen surrounded by at least four police officers. They speak to him for about two minutes before the man is shot and falls backwards.

Oates said an officer fired two shots.”

Where in the fuck were the tasers? The pepper spray? Bean bag rounds? All of those other devices that have been used and abused against peaceful protesters on college campuses and on the streets outside Wall Street? If you absolutely had to shoot him, why shoot to kill? Why didn't you put a single round into his arm or leg?

Why was this man seemingly executed on the street?

Several videos of the incident surfaced online; an officer on the scene also captured footage with a body-worn camera, The Miami Herald reports. But under a state law signed earlier this year by Florida Gov. Rick Scott ®, the police body camera video does not have to be released to the public.

Yeah, because we need less transparency in government these days. For fuck's sake...

I recall reading Genet many years ago. He wrote that his impression was that the same "type" of person who becomes a criminal is the same "type" that becomes a law enforcement officer or prison guard.

NOTE: Member, Tomasia uses this site to slander other individuals. He then later proclaims it a joke, but not in public.
I will call him a liar and a dog here and now.

Well, if you like fucking kids, being a Catholic priest is the profession for you. You sell a product that doesn't exist, you get privileged access to children, and if you're caught you will receive protection from one of the world's largest rape-cabals and receive no real repercussions for your actions.

Is it any wonder why so many child molesters have ended up within the ranks of the church? They're not all child molesters, but the smart and observant ones will gravitate here because of how it facilitates their proclivities.

Likewise, if you enjoy having authority and throwing it around without repercussion? If you like the idea of being able to retaliate with force if someone disrespects you? And that if you do, there are little to no consequences, and you'll have a massive union and the silent support of all of your coworkers (the 'thin blue line')?

Once again, I can think of no better job than being a police officer. They're not all power-hungry assholes and school-yard bullies with middle-school intellects combined with lethal weapons and the authority to use them, but clearly it appeals to those who are. This profession isn't all sociopaths with no empathy, but the job attracts those who get off on these things; precisely because just like the Catholic church, the job offers protection instead of accountability.

The system is broken, and it allows these sociopaths onto the force, and protects them once they're there. But they're not a church, they are public servants; payed for with public funds, and need to be held accountable to the public that they are sworn to protect and serve.

And if that is too high of a standard for any officer to uphold, they shouldn't be a police officer.

Cenk is right in this case, there is a huge difference in the way police is trained in US and in Europe, and that is the reason.
One can only imagine how many unnecessary killings happened and went under the public radar before the time of cameras everywhere.

Over 1,000 criminals were killed by police in 2014, also in 2014 11,205,833 were arrested. It's not as common as you think, seems that way because people only want to shed light on the bad instead of good, most American cops are well trained and handle situations very well.

I agree that does sound insane, but then again America has the largest prison population and the greatest wealth disparity in the world and they are too worried about preserving their image (or what's left of it) to do something serious about it.

Freedom is servitude to justice and intellectual honesty.
