Out state flower is the California Poppy:

Out state tree is the Coast Redwood, the biggest tree in the world resides in Humboldt County called "Hyperion", it's almost 380 ft. tall!

Amazing. When I visited Cali in 1996 with my aunt we took a tour of the redwoods forest. It was like a fairytale land. Made feel like a gnome or fairy, so tiny in the giant forest. Nice!

Talking about trees. German national tree is the oak.
It represents durability and longevity. It is also pictured on the backside of our €-coins (and was even before the age of €)

And perhaps the pohutakawa tree which is sometimes coined as our Christmas tree because it blossoms in mid summer.
