RE: D&D In Character Thread
Several hours pass and one by one you return to your rooms at the inn. Full of good food and wine (or brandy) you all sleep late into the morning. Upon waking and descending down into the private room your group has been using you see a large man in chain mail with a black tabard and a long sword. He sits at the table a mug and plate of food untouched before you. As you enter the room he fixes each of you with a cold stare. When you have all assembled he at last speaks.

Sir Carvin: His Lordship the Mayor has asked me to debrief you as to the situation with the bandits to the north. Know you that I don't hold with mercenaries but I am duty bound to heed his command. The strikes always happen at least 10 miles north of town on the road. The generally happen either at dusk or upon night as the crew are camping by the roadside. We have ridden three times with caravans but are not numerous enough to escort every trader. I have a map that you may consult. Have you any questions?

Sir Carvin: Well with the mine not being operational I doubt very much there shall be a caravan for some weeks. However I can supply you with a wagon and a few horses. If you wish you can masquerade as a merchant and his guards.

"That would be perfect. We could start right away."

Sir Carvin nods at you and stands, turns on his heel and Goes to leave the room. "I can have a wagon and a couple horses ready in under an hour if you leave soon after that you should make the campsite well before dark. It is the only natural spring for miles around which is why the merchants always camp there." Carvin then leaves the room and heads out of the Inn.

"Maybe we should wait to cross that bridge when we actually get to it! We have a full days' journey ahead of us. Obviously, if it turns out one of us has to be bait, I must insist it be me."

*Groh'L scratches his chin whiskers*

"I've heard tell of Druids who could see through animals... perhaps Gwen could loose her bird when we get near, and Kopai could look around with Owlister's eyes. I'm only guessing at our friend's abilities, though!"

"But I agree with Iss... Milfa! I yearn to get back onto the battlefield! I say we make haste!"

Nathlana unwraps a bit of roasted meat from Gyrand Crazlemot's dinner and looks on at Mordecai affectionately, "eat, my love"

She stands and takes a deep breath. No one is speaking now. We need to leave soon so we can arrive before dark as Sir Carvin suggested. I really hate speaking out in groups

Nathlana sighs again and leans her body into Groh'L. She speaks softly to him but not so quiet that another couldn't over hear. "We need to leave soon. And we shouldn't forget about the ring. The more of us who can see in the dark the better off we are."

Swing with me a while, we can listen to the birds call, we can keep each other warm.
Swing with me forever, we can count up every flower, we can weather every storm.

Mathilda walks off grumbling to herself.

"Looks like I'll be the bloody bait then. That's right. Assume the smallest person makes the best victim. Even better if it's a woman. Damn patriarchical oppression ... grumble ... sizism ... grumble ...come the revolution ... grumble .... harumpf!"

RE: D&D In Character Thread
An hour passes and out front of the inn is a wagon filled with crates, a canvas sheet stretched over the top. 2 horses (of middling worth the kind a traveling merchant would own) are harnessed and tethered to the front. Sir Carvin is not there but a Guardsman is stationed by the wagon and gladly hands off the reigns to Milfa. The journey to the camping spot is non-eventful. As evening begins to fall you reach the site and make camp.

Please decide who will be keeping watch and in what order.
