First of all, what are the atheist political activist goals, and how are the Democrats, or Republicans, violating the stated goals by putting God in their mission statements???

If putting 'God' in the mission statements does not violate the political goals of atheists, then why boo it?

AMERICAN ATHEISTS REMOVES RELIGIOUS BILLBOARDS FROM CHARLOTTE
Quote:Cranford, NJ – American Atheists announced today that the billboards the organization had placed in Charlotte, NC, ahead of the Republican and Democratic National Conventions, criticizing Christianity and Mormonism would be coming down weeks early.

Charlotte not Tampa - What's up?

Humanism - ontological doctrine that posits that humans define reality
Theism - ontological doctrine that posits a supernatural entity creates and defines reality
Atheism - political doctrine opposed to theist doctrine in public policy

Please, the political parties are not the government(s).

The political parties are free to discriminate in favor of appeasing their constituents who demand representation for their vote and contributions to the campaign - you think atheists are owed something from the parties for their paltry contributions?

They are competing to become the rulers of this country. Keep religion out of it.

It would be nice if you could elaborate a bit more so that I could understand your level of understanding that only an atheist political organization is obligated to obsolete the recognition of "God" as relevent to the ability to reason legislation - all the other political parties have the obligation to explain the precepts of their reasoning.

You ever think of it that way? Your demand that all politicians and political parties must shun the recognition of God and religion as shaping their reasoning process is an irrational demand in an infinitely secular tolerant society.

By the way, do you agree with this reasoning of faulting the Constitution's stability?
Quote: Get this – the Constitution can be interpreted two ways. We recognize this problem when a Supreme Court Justice is retired and a replacement has to be appointed, and the members of the Senate Judiciary Committee ask questions that lead us to understand that the Constitution can be interpreted two ways – liberal, and conservative. And then we generate expectations of the decisions of Constitutional validity – since there are more conservatives on the court, we expect their rulings to favor the conservative view. And then we recognize the “swing vote,” obviously the wisest of the wise. The solution is that Constitutional validity can only be determined by a unanimous interpretation of the constitution. And we can probably do that now.

Any atheists group has just one goal that can be connected to being atheist in a political fashion.. that's even taking a leap too because there could be plenty of atheists who don't agree.. but it's a matter of not having the government endorse a religion. If the political party in majority, even minority control, have God in their platform, they are endorsing a religion(s) that has believe in A God.
