Darn, I gotta git gud.
Been living like a fat lazy slob for too long; have to change things around for the better.

Need a checklist...

Atleast 2 hours of drum practice each day. Focus on the weak foot and hand. Stick Control and mr Donati's book. Full Strokes and ghost notes.

More sleep. Not more sitting up to 3 am in the middle of the week. Stupid.

More water, less shitty good. Eat a fucking salad.

Apply for more jobs. If I get into that school, work hard asshole.

Postpone any ideas of romance or sexual desire. It's a waste of time.

Less video games. Played it all before, why bother again. They just piss me off anyhow. Although I'll still play Victoria, L4D2 and TF2 with me friends.

EXERCISE. DO IT. 40 MINS A DAY. NO MORE FAAAAAAAT ASSES.

Be nicer to parents. If you can't, just shut your mouth and do as they say, you get paid anyhow.

Learn to drive, bitch.

I guess that's it, time to be reborn

Oh yeah, don't expect to see me all that often, not that I stay around that much anyway. Don't bother creating a birthday thread for me.

Best of luck and may the force be with you.

RE: Darn, I gotta git gud.
Remember, it is all from the wrist.

Use a metronome. Listen to music you do NOT like. Find within it what makes others enjoy it.

The best drumming is the drumming that best suits the song. No heavy blast beats on a slow love ballad. That is BAD drumming and musicality.

Don't use stick control page by page. Do 5, then 8, then 10 etc. Then go back to 6. This keeps it interesting.

Work your limbs around the kit. Once you control your wrists add the fingers to it and have a combination of both.

Youtube instructors I recommend are: Danny Gottlieb, Joe Morello, Jim Chapin. Oh and Jeff Porcaro's video. He was the song master.

Forget the rest. That's all you need. And Virgil for footwork of course.

Learn about Hal Blaine, Jim Keltner, Bernard Purdie, Steve Gadd, Harvey Mason, JR, Jerry Marotta, Shelley Manne, Earl Palmer etc.

Exchange your feet for stick control exercises. Substitute a foot for a hand. It need only be one beat per bar.

Throw all of your favorite recordings away. Listen to new music. This will help you expand your ideas. I gave all mine away.

Eat well. One hour's focused practice is better than 2 hours messing about entertaining yourself. Work on what you cannot do.

Good luck. And you know where to find me. Smile

I will call him a liar and a dog here and now.
