I don't care whether Darwin recanted on his deathbed (although I am not convinced he did). If he seriously argued that religion, christianity specifically, was a good influence on society and decreased violence and wars then Darwin was WRONG. It IS possible. He could have been wrong, and doubtless he was ignorant of alot and was wrong on many things - just like every human is.
So it would seem that the way to determine what is actually true is to look at the facts and the evidence supporting a proposition to see if it meets the burden of proof. Fuck arguments from authority, they mean nothing.
