Dear Jefferson Bethke (the spoken word christian guy),
No reasonable person worships their car

Not the beer in a bar

And, no, not a star

nor the sex you can have with a refried beans, in a jar

You see to me, if you believe in "God"

Then you have fallen victim to the worlds oldest fraud

They'll take your money with a smile and a nod

And promise salvation that is narrow, not broad

You'll hear warnings and verses, but don't fall for this trap

It's like a gift in a box, you are not to unwrap

They'll tell you your weak if the gift you should scrap

But when you peered in, it was all full of crap

So what should you do when the world gets you down

Look for comfort in loved ones who care for your frown

As for "God" up above who would have humans drown

He's not even as real as Bozo the clown

See there boy, I can do it too

Hell, I might even be a little better than you

But my in humblest opinion of the religion you spew

Brainwashing to condemn is all that you do.

I'm thinking about doing this more often... what do you think? I enjoy it, but I don't want to be annoying to anyone. I know people come on here to talk about important issues and all. Wink -JebusFreak[/font]

Thanks Suzanne. I appreciate that. My only problem is keeping them short!

Why not make this the poetry thread? Here's one I posted sometime ago:

There once was a planet named Earth
Whose inhabitants loved laughter and mirth
Then along came a god
Who thought it all quite odd
Since then, of joy there's been a dearth.

We have a Poet's corner to display finished pieces.

Make your own poetry thread if you don't feel comfortable there or don't feel your stuff is quite finished yet.
Consider

How about a poetry workshop thread? Where work can be presented, applauded, and feedback given? Might also be interesting to try a group effort, here and there.
