RE: Debunking miracles
It's interesting that god concentrates on the important things like your brother's glasses. He must really like him!

RE: Debunking miracles
A miracle is, quite literally, the least probable thing that could ever happen; like defying or breaking the known laws of the universe. By definition, everything else is more probable than a miracle.

So consequently, you need an incredibly large amount of evidence to match the monstrous burden of proof required to substantiate a 'miracle' claim.

RE: Debunking miracles
The word "miracle" is a gap answer and is a result of sample rate error and selection bias. Whatever claim you make about survival, there are many more similar events that do not have that outcome.

50 million humans worldwide die each year from everything. They die stillborn, in child birth, childhood disease, to famine, natural disaster, car crashes, plane crashes, man made disasters, crime and war and old age.

In a 10 year period that is half a billion people. In a 20 year period that is 1 billion humans.

If someone survives or dies as a result of any of those above, it is a matter of multiple conditions, not magic not the divine.
