Deconversion in progress
I have been a Christian for the better part of twenty years. I have been involved in ministry, attended bible college and was one of those guys that would approach you on the street to talk about Jesus. There have been many things that have irked me about the Christian experience over the years, and those irkings have grown into nagging suspicions. I am currently in the process of finally taking a fully objective look at what I believed with an open mind that it could be100% bullshit. I am thankful for this forum and look forward to interacting with many of you and sharing what I've seen that makes me suspicious. Thanks for having me!

RE: Deconversion in progress
My first questions arose from the discrepancies between how my fellow christians actually acted, and how the preacher was telling us to!

TheGulegon - Which is ironic, since that's not evidence at all. On the other hand, it is enough to break one of the habit of taking what one's fellow religionists say as Gospel. So to speak.

Welcome! Shy

That area did not bother me so much as I expected imperfection in everyone. Some of the red flags that stood out to me were more along the lines of the illogical like the uselessness of prayer. One of the biggest things was the "supernatural christian experience" itself including the euphoric feeling that came from worship. I found a few interesting things to dispel that which you can read in further detail here if you would like.

This is the introductions section so discussion is limited here. Start a thread or two in other areas with questions you have and you'll probably get lots of feedback.
