What do you mean?

Anti-theist (Antitheist) is a viable option for those who say "I believe there is no God"

People do use it.

Hey, AtotheT.

I mean I don't see anyone here racing to embrace it. It's not a good alternative unless people are willing to adopt it.

Matt

Just because no one here is racing to adopt it, doesn't mean it's not true. You put people in a catagory that fits them, not in a catagory that they want.

Anti-theists are also atheists as well.

Anti-theists DON'T believe in a God; they believe AGAINST a God.

RE: Definition of Atheism
Hey, AtotheT.

What does it mean to believe against a God?

True or not, it's not practical if people aren't willing to self-identify as Antitheist (I'm not suggesting that no one anywhere does, but that I see no evidence of it here).

It's like Esperanto. It was designed to be an international language. Great solution right? Everyone learns a new language that has parts from all languages and everyone's on a level playing field. But nobody learned the damn thing. So it's a shitty alternative because no one wants to adopt it.

Quote:Anti-theists are also atheists as well.

An idea that simply contributes to the confusion in my opinion.

Shouldn't an Atheist simply be off the religion/God table? Asexuals don't jerk off to porn. They're just out of the game entirely. Namean?

Peace and Love and Empathy,

Matt

Bad example. Atheists are not like asexuals. Some prefer to know about God, and others do not. Those that do not are apatheists. Atheism lacks a belief in a deity, but there is nothing stopping an atheist from believing there is no deity, they would just be anti-theistic as well.
