Total number of persons living in Croatia: 4.437.460
Roman-Catholic: 87,83 % Orthodox Greek: 0,14 % Old Catholic: 0,01 % Orthodox Serbian: 4,42 % Islam: 1,28 % Judaism: 0,01 % Other: 0,54 % Agnostics and unsorted: 2,99 % Atheists: 2,22 % Unknown: 0,58 % This is the data from 2001, we just made new list, but it is being sorted out, the new and complete data will be sorted in the next few months, but I do not think it will vary much. I think we will have a bit more atheists and that's it. ![]() I have a theory that the truth is never told during the nine-to-five hours. -Hunter S. Thompson |

RE: Demography of your country in religion
Go UK atheists. We doing quite well as a nation. Give it a few generations and the religious will be the minority.
Best and worst of Ferdinand ..... Best Ferdinand: We don't really say 'theist' in Alabama. Here, you're either a Christian, or you're from Afghanistan and we fucking hate you. Worst Ferdinand: Everyone from British is so, like, fucking retarded. |

If you believed half the news reports or listened to the some of tosspots who feel the need to educated us all on society/politics despite knowing nothing about either then you would think that 150% of the British population are now Muslims and that three billion immigrants arrive in Dover every 30 seconds with over 200% of them being illegals who get given a cheque for a million pounds on entry ![]() Best and worst of Ferdinand ..... RE: Demography of your country in religion
I have to be part of this discussion I think... if nothing else but to brag about Sweden :-)
We are around 10 million people in this country. I didn't find any exact numbers (from only checking wikipedia :-)) but some interesting stuff anyway: According to the most recent Eurobarometer Poll 2005,[13] 23% of Swedish citizens responded that "they believe there is a god". 53% answered that "they believe there is some sort of spirit or life force". 23% answered that "they do not believe there is any sort of spirit, god, or life force". Phil Zuckerman, an Associate Professor of Sociology at Pitzer College writes of several academic sources who have in recent years placed atheism rates in Sweden between 46% and 85%, with one source reporting that only 17% of respondents self-identified as "atheist".[14] Sweden ranks aside with France, South Korea, Japan, Czech Republic and the Netherlands on having a large minority or even majority of its citizens who have no religion. An article on Sweden's official website asserts that that just three out of 10 Swedes state that they have confidence in the church. The article lists the following facts about religion in Sweden: Only 1 in 10 Swedes thinks religion is important in daily life. Around 7 out of 10 children are christened in the Church of Sweden. Just over 5 out of 10 weddings take place in church. Almost 9 out of 10 Swedes have Christian burials. Also around 71% of Swedes are members of the Church of Sweden, this is mainly because everyone used to be born as a member (this was removed a while back) so you had to actively leave the church which many people just can't be bothered doing :-) Take care! |
