Dennis Prager
Recently, I have been incrementally watching some of the videos from Dennis Prager's Prager University site. These videos cover a wide range of topics from what one might call a stereotypically "conservative" view point. The verisimilitude of the videos varies according to topic (some have information that can be backed by evidence), however, the religion ones appear to rehash old arguments and package them in a "slick" fashion.

Can anyone offer me their take on these videos?

RE: Dennis Prager
Watched the science argument... but really foolish conclusions he's making upon incomplete and not up to date information.

The assumption about the search for life was off based as already the Drake Equation had more credence than merely taking 2 factors in the search for life.

His conclusion that odds are astonishing isn't a rational case against it. It's merely a statistical factor. We are now just released this summer finding planets meeting the criteria for the potential of life.

His understanding of statistics or the case of this data at least is quite apparent at a level of hmm "bupkis" as he had used.

RE: Dennis Prager
Thanks for the feedback.

I find Dennis Prager to be one of the strangest of the so called "conservative" personalities. At times he presents things in a thoughtful manner, not saying that I necessarily agree with him, rather, that he appears to have put a great deal of thought into his arguments. However, when it comes to religion, he becomes threatened and issues tired old arguments like the ones in these videos.

His interview with Sam Harris is case in point, when he can't help but interrupt Harris in an apparent attempt to reduce the discussion to a rant.

I wish Seth could get him on the Thinking Atheist show so that Seth could face him as an apostate (like myself) rather than someone like Harris that Prager can constantly try to defame as "someone who has never seen the light".

More comments are certainly welcome.

Aron Ra did a response to one of Prager's videos. I thought it was pretty good.

RE: Dennis Prager
Thank you for the excellent video by Aron Ra!!

I suppose the thing that concerns me most about Prager's videos is that some of the videos on things like history and economics (I did my graduate school work in economics so, I feel qualified to make an assessment) are done by people with good credentials who present material that is backed by verifiable evidence.

It seems as though Mr. Prager enlisted these people to indirectly offer him credence for his unsubstantiated bull shit on religion.

I have been told that 19th century "snake oil" salesman used to do the same thing. They would quote information that some individuals in the crowd could potentially verify as true, however, this would only serve as a segue to their sales pitch.

Please supply more great feedback!!
