Which part of this book is metaphor, allegory, history, or truth, how would you determine?

And if so is it cheating when a participant prays while playing a sport?
Is religion on the list of banned drugs?

Do a survey. Do athletes who pray win more than those who don't?

You do realize that any promise of a postmortem preservation of identity is utter and complete bullshit, right?

RE: Destroy a faith in one sentence
Destroy faith with a single sentence? Doesn't that sound a little bit arrogant?

If entire books written by the greatest writers still alive in modern history could not destroy someones faith with a half dozen books each.

How the hell would you think that a single sentence would be enough?

Sure, it does not count for everyone and there is no doubt that those books converted a few people away from faith, but for anyone on this planet, it takes a lot more than a sentence to make them question anything.

Or you can think of this as a floor-falling-out-of-an-elevator pitch to achieve a death bed deconversion. They have just long enough to think "Bugger that!" before they go splat into the ground.

Feel feel to add your own or improve or correct my ones.
  • None of the written accounts of Jesus are contemporaneous.
  • None of the books in the New Testament can agree on what happened during Jesus's resurrection.
  • The Bible lists the bat alongside other unclean birds (Leviticus 11:13-19)
  • The Bible mentions insects with four legs (Leviticus 11:20-23)
  • I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet. (Timothy 2:12)

No one who wrote of jesus actually knew him.

If you were locked in a basement for 24 years and raped on a daily basis, who would you hate more, the police man who watched and did nothing or your god who watched and did nothing ?

Insanity - doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results
