DETROIT—
A Detroit-area bus system is appealing a court order that could force it to accept ads from a group offering help to Muslims who want to leave Islam.

A federal judge recently ruled that the bus agency known as SMART likely violated free-speech rights by rejecting the ads. The ads say, "Fatwa on your head? Leaving Islam? Got questions? Get answers!"

SMART is asking Judge Denise Page Hood to suspend the preliminary injunction while it appeals. General Manager John Hertel says he considers the ads political and says riders shouldn't be confronted with them.

A group called the American Freedom Defense Initiative says SMART is being inconsistent because buses have carried ads promoting atheism. The next court hearing is May 12. SMART serves riders in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties. (Source)

As long as it's not government supported then I see nothing wrong with it although I'm sure many Christians will have a huge problem with it.
