Did Our Universe Come from a 4-D Black Hole?
Our Universe Just Might be Fourth-Dimensional Black Hole Vomit

Came across this article a friend of mine posted on Facebook. It's a bit strange to think about, but it seems like it could be very plausible. Then again with my limited understanding of science, I could be completely wrong and maybe the whole idea makes absolutely no scientific sense.

hmm. Well I think that the fourth dimension is time... So this black hole exists in time.. which means...that it is no different from any of the others?

When you are courting a nice girl an hour seems like a second. When you sit on a red-hot cinder a second seems like an hour. That's relativity.

Quote:Of course, it's speculative; it's pretty tricky, after all, knowing for sure what happened at the birth of our universe, and the work's yet to be peer reviewed, but the researchers think it has promise. Plus, there's something comforting in the notion that we're all just spatters of stellar vomit.

It is interesting, though. Other theories suggest the possibility of 11 dimensions so... 4 isn't that far out.

(Wow. I think he forgot to state that in the form of a question.)

Brian Greene has some similar ideas.

When they talk about 4th dimension they are talking about a 4th spatial dimension. So if you consider time another dimension, then consider our 4 dimensional universe came from the vomit of a 5 dimensional black hole.
