Well that's not interesting at all...

But we can sleep safely tonight and drink beer with no worries.

Did you know that China has built whole knock-off cities like a fake Paris.

and a fake London.

Venice

And I think they have New York City and some other fake cities.

Also, did you know there are people who, when they have their male dogs neutered, opt for doggie testical implants? Bet'cha didn't know that now did'ja?

And they come in three sizes. Voila!

And if you're curious why, well read this from that great newspaper, The Daily Puppy....

Didn't the Soviet Union build replica cities to train troops for an invasion.
Gotta look out for China! Their up to something man..

It's bizarre. Here's the fake Chinese Bavarian Village.

My only thought is that the Chinese as a whole aren't imaginative. But it does cut travel costs. Go to Paris for a stay then drive to Venice which is about an hour away. Screwy-louie.

The dog testical implant thing I just threw into the post for the fun of it. Big Grin

That sounds more like a symptom of their construction bubble. They literally build whole cities just to build them, complete with multilane highways running through them, and you'll see maybe 2 cars on it. There are entire apartment buildings without any tenants.

On the topic of fake buildings and such:
I bet this is already well known but for the hell of it; North Korea constructed a village called Kijŏng-dong, otherwise known as 'Peace Village' in NK in after the 1953 Armistice.
Unlike most villages in North Korea, this one is actually wired up to electricity and the buildings are primarily concrete. According to the government, the village houses a large farming community.
However, it is now known that the buildings are nothing more than shells and the electricity is set on a timer to active and deactivate at a certain time and is uninhabited. However, its streets are kept clean by sweepers. Until 2004, large speakers were positioned in the town, spewing propaganda to the South.

The people closely associated with the namesake of female canines are suffering from a nondescript form of lunacy.

Hello dancefortwo, very interesting pictures, although something tells me that those dog implants are bollocks! Tongue

This may be off topic and I apologise, but I am very interested in your remark. Surely there must be imaginative people in China, but it does not seem to be 100%.

What about the rest of the planet? What do you think might be the proportion between imaginative people and unimaginative people?

Cheers!

(Edit: tried again spelling "China", he he)

Interesting!

Are you basing your estimation on the people you find around you (do half the people around you come up with their own ideas and the other half just reproduce other people's ideas)? Or is it more a random probability thing (two options, fifty fifty)?

Thanks!

RE: Did you know...
What a crazy world!
BEST LAWYER / INSURANCE STORY OF THE YEAR, DECADE, AND POSSIBLY THE CENTURY.

This actually took place in Charlotte, North Carolina.

A lawyer purchased a box of very rare and expensive cigars, then
insured them against, among other things, fire.

Within a month, having smoked his entire stockpile of these great
cigars, the lawyer filed a claim against the insurance company.
In his claim, the lawyer stated the cigars were lost 'in a series of
small fires.'

The insurance company refused to pay, citing the obvious reason, that
the man had consumed the cigars in the normal fashion.

The lawyer sued and WON!
(It gets better)

Delivering the ruling, the judge agreed with the insurance company that
the claim was frivolous. The judge stated nevertheless, that the lawyer
held a policy from the company, in which it had warranted that the
cigars were insurable and also guaranteed that it would insure them
against fire, without defining what is considered to be unacceptable
'fire' and was obligated to pay the claim.

Rather than endure lengthy and costly appeal process, the insurance
company accepted the ruling and paid $15,000 to the lawyer for his loss
of the cigars that perished in the 'fires'.

NOW FOR THE BEST PART...

After the lawyer cashed the check, the insurance company had him
arrested on 24 counts of ARSON!!! With his own insurance claim and
testimony from the previous case being used against him, the lawyer was
convicted of intentionally burning his insured property and was
sentenced to 24 months in jail and a $24,000 fine.

This true story won First Place in last year's Criminal Lawyers Award
contest.
