Dino-Chickens (TEDtalks)
Hmmm, "Food" or "Science" forum...?

If you haven't seen it, check out the TEDtalks with paleontologist Jack Horner discussing how they've isolated the genes in the common chicken to change the wings into what in dinosaurs passed for "hands," the tail feathers into an actual tail, and the beak into teeth. By switching these genes "on," they could create chickens that more closely resemble their dino ancestors wiith hands, a tail, and teeth. All this to aid Jack in talking to 6th-graders about how chickens evolved from dinos. Very cool.
