Yup. I think they need to rename it something other than the History Channel, very deceiving.

True story...my husband is addicted to American Pickers. After a year or so of sort of watching it because it was on the TV, I asked him what the appeal was. His response was that he thought I would like it since they are from Iowa. Facepalm As if I know everyone from Iowa and I like them all. FacepalmFacepalm

I like hunting for old treasures surreptitiously through them. Keeps me from going out and buying rusted old crap myself. Smile

Science Channel occasionally still plays good things besides the Into the Universe or whatever it's called, they often have some other smaller series they still reair, but it's all programing that isn't exactly up to date. A week or two ago they had a bunch series of NASA spacecraft issue episodes for a marathon but then it's back to constant How It's Made and Mythbusters again.

They said the same thing several months ago. Has anything changed? I haven't been looking too closely.

Well now they have trailers of actual shows they're releasing starting in 2016. You don't create new programming in an instant, it does take months of time to do that.

But sure they haven't adjusted the old stuff they've been airing in regards to the pop culture stuff... yet i don't see that Dark Side of Science Show, which did dabble in "conspiracy" science a bit but I never thought that show was bad as it did at least never say anything with certainty... but perhaps that programming, along with the style of the Morgan Freeman show, can lead people to accepting the woo/silly answers they also give time to along with more earnest ones. It's not like those shows are ancient aliensing it up or Brad Mahteveahrver that guys name is conspiracy hunters show on History channel does.

The only channel we watch is National Geographic Wild. We record shows like Big Cat Diary and then we fast forward through their horribly long commercials. At first the History Channel was nothing but refighting WW II and now it is Pawn Shop Stars. It really sucks. Oh, I forgot, we watch Al Jazeera.

Old Man and Moms said it- the History Channel ought to clean up, too. Stories about jeebus like they are true. I watch very little TV, but have seen snippets when passing through the room when the family is watching.

On another topic, shit that would be X-rated in my youth is regularly displayed as standard "entertainment"- murder porn is what I call it.

No PBS? Gasp

I was emotionally crushed to learn that mermaids weren't real. That show SERIOUSLY got my hopes up. Sadcryface2
