RE: Discussion on the invalidity of Mormonism
Thought I'd post this here, the BOM asserts that Jews came from the mid-east to America circa 600 BCE, of course no genetic evidence has been found that backs up this assertion and many apologetics have been proffered to explain away why this is so.

An African tribe the Lemba, have also made an almost identical claim that the BOM does, they left the Jewish lands of that time period (around 540 BCE). They have preserved many of the Jewish customs of this heritage to this day. Odd that no native Americans had Jewish customs if the BOM was true.

The main difference was, they tested the claims of the Lemba with genetics and they discovered they did indeed have Jewish descent!

A quote from this article: Lemba tribe in southern Africa has Jewish roots, genetic tests reveal

Quote:Members of the priestly clan of the Lemba, the Buba – which is one of 12 clans – have a genetic element also found among the Jewish priestly line, known as Kohanim. "This was amazing," Professor Tudor Parfitt from the University of London told the BBC. "It looks as if the Jewish priesthood continued in the West by people called Cohen, and in same way it was continued by the priestly clan of the Lemba.”

This is as clear cut as can be, a tribe making almost identical claims as the BOM from the same time period was shown to actually have Jewish descent. Not only that, they were able to trace which tribe they came from!
But Joey's Book of Bullshit makes a spurious claim and has no evidence to back it up.

There's a reason why Mormonism is a fading religion.

It all began as a money making venture.
