Make paper mache stuff. Like this.

Or stuff like this. It's a paper mache clock. I think.

Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors.... on Donald J. Trump:

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

I hear they burn like the devil.

While I like the idea of burning them I wouldn't do it for home heating. The paper and ink are chemically treated and release noxious fumes when burned. Some of them are known carcinogens, and making them airborne in your home is a no-no.

Shred 'em and use them as package wadding. Much better use.

Thanks. This is the kind of information that I was looking for.

DLJ's photos are interesting though. I might just soak the bible and then stand on it to squish the pages together and the next day put it back in the drawer.

I remember once at school, it was the last day of term before the summer holidays and a bottle of water broke in my bag soaking a text book. I forgot to take the text book out of my bag when I got back. It even dried out over the weeks and the next time I had a lesson I found that the book was basically a block of wood.

Hmm, I do have a load of other books to get rid of though in this house. I wonder what I can do with them if I can't burn them. Maybe I could use them to start a BBQ going?

Well it's a type of hydrocarbon molecule that's used to treat the paper. It's harmless on the paper, but of you get it airborne then it can be dangerous.

Admittedly, this is only the chemicals I know about. There might be others I'm not familiar with.

Well, not really - it's the burning of Bibles that makes Gawd angry and he gives you cancer. You need to get your theology straight.Angry

I always take them. Yeah, I'm mean that way.

Oh, the last hotel we stayed at had a copy of Qur'an and Hindi book too...Score for me...

We had two rooms, so that was like 6 books....

I tossed them into the trash.

But as if to knock me down, reality came around
And without so much as a mere touch, cut me into little pieces
