Do atheists have a better sense of humor than theists?
Hard to measure something like this but I really think so. Lately there have been some very funny responses on threads that have actually made me laugh out loud. Or, maybe Spring has put me in a better mood. I donno. But I think atheists see the irony of life, look at situations with in an offbeat manner and think outside the box. It makes for some really funny crap.....and I really like it.

Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors.... on Donald J. Trump:

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

I thought Jews were supposed to be the funniest though?

I would say sure for the most part but I know several humorless atheists. I think it's a pretty standardly thought though that the social conservative christian theist types have dreadful senses of humor.

A priest, a rabbi, and an atheist walk into a bar...

I don't think I have a better sense of humor, it's just that since I consider nothing sacrosanct I have many more opportunities to laugh.

And the bartender says, "what is this, a joke? "

Big Grin

But now I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

I think that when compared to fundamentalists or ultra-conservatives, atheists accept a wider range of topics as far as humor is concerned. We aren't worried about blasphemy toward a god and we aren't as concerned with what may go against what doctrine.

Jesus fucking christ, blasphemy is always good for a laugh, isn't it.
