Well humans are fierce, ferocious, and cruel, but are tame because we are a domesticated species.

Tame? Where you been? Have you read any of Taqiyya Mockingbird's posts? Big Grin

Of course. But not all of them. There are plenty of pussies out there who are neither fierce nor ferocious nor cruel. They tend to like seals and geckos. ... And cats. I'll never understand the cats. Tongue

Yes, why are the savage?

As per your prior definition of savage "fierce, ferocious, or cruel; untamed...", all of the creatures listed fit the bill to one degree or another.

And as with all creatures, their savagery is displayed when they are violent; All of the animals are almost without exception more than willing to mercilessly rend things limb from limb even without the motivator of food, many even specifically target babies of their own species for annihilation, if given the opportunity.
Of course this all ignores the peaceful and non-violent tendencies of the creatures.

We can accentuate the negative all we want, Paleo, but that wont stop the exceptive cases, behaviours and tendencies from existing.
Savageness is a behaviour, it is not of absolute, overriding notice in most animals, as there are just as important characteristics which contradict savagery.

Never said that humans are the only savage animal, just that we are the most savage animal so far.

How so?

Simply because we are destructive and invasive, it does not mean we are the most savage of beasts.
An enraged human is indeed one of the most ugly and violent of things, but triggers need to be pulled for that to happen, usually.
However, we are among the most empathetic species on Earth, and many have reflexive tendencies to protect family, friends and pets before themselves in times of danger. We are also among the most cooperative of species.

Humans are dangerous, destructive and often callous and calculating toward each other, but they are also hopelessly kind, compassionate and empathetic as well, even to things which aren't even capable of returning the empathy.

There is only grey.

So us using bombs that can kill every thing in its path is not the most savage thing? So T-rex was more savage for hunting one animal, while humans kill millions with bombs. Humans have a reason to use them, but it kills almost everything, even animals they did not intend to kill.
