A Buddhist is going to reject theism as an appropriate classification category

Why would a Buddhist reject humanism as an appropriate classification category if atheism is correct? What is it about the doctrine of humanism that is unacceptable for Buddhists?

The fact that I do not reject Big Bang Theory doesn't make me an astrophysicist.

The fact that I do not reject the "Golden Rule" doesn't make me an xtian.

You are indulging in Category Fallacies all over the place.

Humanism - ontological doctrine that posits that humans define reality
Theism - ontological doctrine that posits a supernatural entity creates and defines reality
Atheism - political doctrine opposed to theist doctrine in public policy

Shouldn't the question be - Is the god that I don't believe in the same as the god that believers do believe in. Belief is what you need in the absence of evidence and gods need believers to exist. See Terry Pratchett, Small Gods and other of his works, where he states that unless it is believed in, a god cannot exist. Did the biblical gods exist (and there are definitely more than one of them,) because they were believed in?
The trouble with being an atheist is that whenever I try to discuss something with a believer, I am made to feel like someone who has kicked a puppy. I have been an atheist all my life (started about age 10/11) and a synagogue member for the last 40 years or so. As Didactylos says, Whatthehell?

Maybe you can find friendship with more atheists and avoid the believer - I find the guys around here to be real friendly and never judgmental about my beliefs. Oh, we have our disagreements about the definition of atheism, but beyond that we all agree that the Christians are stupid and oppressive - you agree with that don't you???

Welcome to the forum - did you write something in the introductions board, yet? I just love to read about new members, and what their all about - are you here to just hang out and get away from the stupid Christians? Beware there are some Christians around here, and as much as we try to be patient with them - you know.

Do you talk about atheism at work and with family, or are you still in the closet? Eventually, you'll have to get in to one of those discussions - they're a lot of fun.

So have you ever participated in an online forum - this is like my tenth atheist forum - I've been banned from all the others. I'm going to put you on my buddy list - are you LBGDT? We got lots around here.

If that's your picture - you're a pretty girl.

Yeah that's what I do, but I have gone through this argument before, and I have made the response in my signature so I do not have to go through it, because the big dogs around here don't like it when I respond to questions that basically draw the attention to me.

Impressive.

At first I didn't agree with him but now I've changed my mind.
