Two girls 9 and 11. My 11 year old is dyeing the ends of her hair purple tonight. When I was a Christian that probably would've freaked me out. Kids and their mom are easily the most important and enjoyable part of my life.

Funny how for each generation life becomes about the next generation. Very Darwinian.

That always becomes very complicated. Thumbsup

As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

I will show you fear in a handful of dust.

OMG everyone has gorgeous children!

Swing with me a while, we can listen to the birds call, we can keep each other warm.
Swing with me forever, we can count up every flower, we can weather every storm.

Being British expats living in Germany and also South Park fans, we were curious as to how the Germans translated this scene.

Turns out they log onto a sick English fetish video. We cracked up laughing.

RE: Do you have kids?
I've never had the opportunity to have children. I will be turning 40 this year and I sometimes think it would be nice but I have never had a strong drive to procreate. I think I've also been wary of children for a long time because I know what they are like when you are also a child. They interact with adults in a totally different way. But that's a side effect of sending them to school where there are no role models of mature behaviour.

I do though still have the instinct to leave something behind when I'm gone and that drive has been channeled into my scientific research. Unfortunately I just don't get the funding most of the time and so I have to find time to do my research when I can. This takes an extremely long time. I am still developing ideas that I started several years ago. My life can seem quite meaningless when I struggle to get the results that I want because I don't have the time to devote myself to it.
