RE: Do you listen to music whilst reading books?
I only read audio books now (well text to speech like Junyuan) I can listen to them on my commute, mowing the lawn, on a walk, in bed, @ the grocery store, while I clean or do laundry (well not so much anymore now that I live with the ol' lady)... I even listen to them while I code front-end markup (CSS/HTML) but sadly I can't write actual PHP/JS/C/JAVA while listening to a book (too much thinking).

If I do find myself reading with my eyes the music has to be purely instrumental and fairly ambient.

I can't because I get distracted so easily while I read. I get distracted by my own wandering thoughts much less background noise. My 4th grade teacher used to play Bob Marley during our reading time and I remember really enjoying that...although I didn't actually get much reading done.

Sometimes. But it has to be Classical or at least some soothing instrumental music.

I do, but as others hint, I mainly do it with instrumental music albeit jazz, classical, or vidia game music.
