I can all but gauruntee I am better educated about taxation than you. Just because you can not understand it does not mean it is uneducated.

So how would we fund the police, fire department, roads and maintenance, etc...

Or are you more of an old school punk rocker saying "fuck your social order?"

No. I am one of those people that understands how things work. We fund the police, fire department, roads, maintenance, etc. from local taxes, like taxes on gasoline, sales taxes, etc. We (In America at least) do not fund these things from Federal Income Taxes, which is what I thought we were talking about, was it not? The difference between these taxes are the fact that we can choose whether or not we will buy certain things and pay the tax associated with it. With a Federal Income Tax the (Federal) government takes the money from you without your consent. That is what I meant.

You'd also know that income tax is existent in every country, and has been part of civilization for thousands of years.

I agree with taxes too but I have to point out the argument from tradition fallacy...

Really, well it didn't exist in America until less than a century ago, 99 years ago to be precise, 16th Amendment. For most of our history we have had no such tax.

Smaller government. Tax things, but not labour. Again, this is what America did from 1776 until 1913.

How about income that does not come from labor?

Sorry, messed up post. Hopefully you won't reply before I can fix it.

Anyhow, no, I would advocate for no income tax.

Yeah? And then reality hit the U.S government pretty hard, didn't it? The U.S civil war woke the government up, making them realize that the government needs money in order to do things.

Income tax was introduced in 1862.
