As I haven't actually used any of these, I fail to see the relevance of your statement. You haven't actually addressed any of the points that I've raised. You've just ignored them and hidden behind waffle.

EDIT: Just for those who arrive in this thread later, a bit of explanation: when I first joined this forum, I got a reputation as "that guy who knew all the fallacies and will point them out in your argument". So, Mr Woof, putting this stuff up there as a smokescreen doesn't help you at all, because I know what they are and that I haven't used them.

Equivocation: Erroneously equating two terms with one another. I have not done this.
From inappropriate authority: Appealing to someone who is recognized as an "expert", but does not actually have any expertise in the appropriate field. I have not done this.
Ad hominem: "You are wrong because you are ugly". I have not done this.
Ad misericordiam: Appeal to guilt or pity. I have not done this.
Ad ignorantiam: The "appeal to ignorance", an attempt to establish something as true due to lack of evidence to the contrary. I have not done this.

Actually I recall a few years back that President Bush had signed a law making it so simulated child porn including anime sex with characters intended to be minors illegal in the U.S.

Okay after I re-read the OP I am not really in agreement to have any bans on what legal actions can be filmed and sold/put online.

I encourage the use of actions to try and educate how porn can have influence in behavior trends when it becomes mainstream. Those issues are why I am not against the LA rule to now make all porn shot there require condoms, but I don't agree to any banning of something because it is too extreme for some other peoples tastes.

Unbeliever's point about switching out Porn with any media topic can be used accurate... oddly though I think the biggest impact would be if we swapped in the news into that topic of needing to be less volatile.

RE: Does Porn Suck?
is that law still in effect?

I'm not a non believer, I believe in the possibility of anything. I just don't let the actuality of something be determined by a 3rd party.

I think that the full implications of threats emanating from the porn industry are trivilaized.

The $90+ billion U.S. porn industry with its degradation of women, vomit, snot, scat preentations, simulated snuff, ongoing efforts to justify any perversion etc --may suit many individuals but is yet, at least from a utilitarian perspective, another blot on society.

There is also a strong (though many try to hide it) links with paedophilia ,child prostitution, slavery and sex holidays where minors are exploted in countries such as Thailand. Where does one decently draw the line between moral relativism (anything consentual goes) and the off shoots suffered by the greater masses?

Oh, actual snuff films - as in, videos of people really dying - are and should be illegal without expressed permission of the families of those involved. If they want to release the video to the public, that's their decision, and you can't really stop other people from doing whatever the hell they want to do with it once it's voluntarily released.

Snuff films authorized by the family and consented to by the decedent? What the fuck's up with that Unbeliever? You looking to get in on the ground floor of some sorta particularly twisted black market?

Girly, I am not condemning all aspects of porn, my concern being with the virus like nature of the commodity to ever transform, or be transformed, into more perverse strains to the detriment of society en masse.

Quite clearly medically prescribed porn for B.P.H is a different situation Wink !

I have been reading a pro porn book ---How to Think with Kink, edited by Dave Monroe which led me to further investigations and insights of how perversely way out stuff housed under the porn umbrella really is..........as you pointed out serving rather as a highly questionable emetic.

That sounds like a valid concern Mr. Woof, but like HoC said, not sure what should be done about it other than self-regulation. If it gives me a woodie it's porn. If it makes me nauseous it ain't porn, it's just disgusting. If it makes me nauseous and disgusted but gives someone else a woody, they need to seek professional help.
