Philosophy is the mother of all Science.
It laid the foundation for:
Mathematics
Jurisprudence
Physics
The scientific method
Computer science
Information theory

Logic is based on philosophy
In fact almost everything has a basis in philosophy.
Ever wondered why over 90% of articles on Wikipedia links back to Philosophy?

It's a necessary component of cognitive thinking.

I coulda been a contender. Weeping Not really. I coulda been a mediocre philosopher or a mediocre computer scientist. No brainer.

There is only one really serious philosophical question, and that is suicide. -Camus

Like slavery. Just because something has it's roots in Philosophy doesn't mean it's useful or worth considering.

Kinda like your nonsense.

I think you are confusing the word useful for the word moral.

Useful:
Able to be used for a practical purpose or in several ways.

Plantation owners found slavery very useful.

...for getting sub par labor, poor workmanship, and oh ya getting 600,000+ people killed. It's been acknowledged by a great many histories that slavery is a net loss in the end so no it was not useful to even the plantation owners in the end.

I wish I could be surprised that you avoided the whole fucking point to focus on a word choice but I'm not. Pedantic as always.
