The great Giovanni Hidalgo who I saw in concert with the Dizzy Gillespie Latin All Stars Big Band. What a show! Smile

I will call him a liar and a dog here and now.

One of today's most important drummers.

Mark Guiliana.

Also check out the bass player, Tim Lefebvre.

Okay, I have heard horror stories about this man, but there in no denying he had the best hands ever, Although he said Billy Gladstone was the one man who had a better roll than him. One of the greatest soloists of the 20th century.

RE: Drummers and percussionist thread.
The one and only David Garibaldi.

"In his own way, David also codified a language – the language of 16th note funk – with Tower of Power in the 1970s. Like all the drummers I’ve picked, there was really no-one else doing it quite that way at the time, so he wrote the rule book. ‘Squib Cakes’, ‘What is hip?’ ‘Oakland Strokes’ were all fantastic. When I heard the band play on Long Island, NY, USA in 1977, I’d never seen 2000 people leap to their feet with such an intense groove. Highly complex drumming, it never lost the simple strength and elegance of the groove."

Bill Bruford. Yes, King Crimson, Genesis, UK, Gong, Earthworks, Ornette Coleman etc.

RE: Drummers and percussionist thread.
Fellow drummer here. Looking to get an electronic kit so I can teach my kiddos without my ears falling off. Though there's a nice traditional double bass set for like $700 here lately.. so tempting.

Anyway, my favorite: Danny Carey
