OK, these are the numbers.

In the last 28 days, 14 have been dry. The 14 drinking days were not benders, just three hangovers in that time.

Its pretty much the long term pattern, but still a lot for my 70 year old liver to handle, considering that its processing prescribed meds as well. Maybe time for blood tests at the docs again?

Anyone else have their numbers?

D.

Keep it up Dworkin.

My only real stat is 15 days dry in 15 days, what's before that is a wash.
My aches are finally gone.

Right now I'm sick as a dog with a bad cold, so no cravings or interest in anything but laying in bed.

The cure for drinking is a DWI
That will cure you pretty quick.
Once you've gone through the bullshit of the first one if you get a second you really do have a problem.

BikerD,

I had to look that up on Google. Too true - If I had to lose the bikes or the booze I would lose the booze - no question.

Good post. Thumbsup

RE: Dueling with drink?
The first drink is a choice. But only the first one.
If you don't take that first drink, you can't get drunk.

For me, the pain from drinking became worse than I could bear. Drink or die, drink and die. A dilemma with death the only answer.

I got help from people - in my case it was in AA - but the key is support from other people. You might be able to do it alone, but it is your best thinking that got you here in the first place. Yes

And contrary to other opinions, it does get easier to not drink. After nearly 26 years, I rarely think that a drink sounds like a good idea.
That's a good thing, because for me a drink is really not a good idea. No

Yeah. Went out with an old friend yesterday who had come into town just for the weekend... talked about old times...

But I'm okay today. It was just too easy.

When I got home I just felt so stupid.

It is just so easy, I'm lucky as I'm keeping straight for my boys coming down for my 50th birthday this weekend to come. You're back on the wagon now though so that's good, I'm sending special thoughts your way my friend. Smile
