Early Christian Hostility to Science
Interesting lecture by Richard Carrier on Early Christian Hostility to Science. There are 8 sections. I'll post first one here and then more later.

I know what I'm doing this evening. Thanks! Thumbsup

Excuse me, I'm making perfect sense. You're just not keeping up.

Early hostility? Blink

I didn't realize the hostility ever stopped... Tongue

Summary?

I'm still watching them, but basically the fear was that science could lead to atheism or paganism. Also, trust in God and belief in God was paramount and that is where one should spend efforts and not on science. God only reveals what He wants us to know--shouldn't go searching for answers God doesn't provide. One example given was that organs are hidden for a reason--God doesn't want us to know about them.
