Ebola outbreak
Holly shit, I thought this was eradicated, but apparently, I was wrong.

The virus is not airborn, but it is transmitted with a touch, a handshake is more than enough. It kills the victim only 24 hours after the handshake, so there is no incubation period, it aggressively attacks human body and destroys it instantly. There is no cure for Ebola.

RE: Ebola outbreak
I would say Uganda is hardly prepared to fight an epidemic.

RE: Ebola outbreak
The real problem will occur if somebody with the virus has exited Uganda. The planes from Uganda fly all over EU... And since there is no cure for Ebola, big European city could be some serious problem. But this is not the first time, these outbreak are happening every few years, resulting in a few hundreds of dead. Considering the danger of Ebola, this is not such a big number...

RE: Ebola outbreak
I think the fact that it takes such a short time to kill its host might work against it spreading large distances.

RE: Ebola outbreak
Yeah that is a huge bonus for containing the disease. But it is also making the virus much harder to fight, as it leaves no room for treatments...

So who's up for a fun game of staying inside for the next year or so?

Ebola and Marburg don't scare me until they figure out how to not kill their host or present symptoms so quickly. But they're fucking working on it. That's what viruses do. Count on it.
