Daily Mail interrupted my daily Gwynnies to speculate "who had the better legs?" Theresa or some other girl...

So I'm kinda partial to Theresa, already. Tongue

I'm an atheist but I can't stand the idea of a "holiday" tree, and I think easter eggs should be called easter eggs.

But this situation doesn't seem like an issue, cadbury have said they're still calling them easter eggs and easter is included in much of their packaging and promotion.
Ha! I remember the thread on xmas trees Big Grin

Not got a problem with anyone calling it an 'easter egg hunt' or simply an 'egg hunt'. People can call it whatever is meaningful to them. I do have a problem with someone insisting it should only be called what they believe it should be called.

Oh good, now we have the "War On Easter" to fill some of the lull before the next "War On Christmas". Those poor, persecuted Christians just can't be allowed to have anything nice.

Businesses should be able to call Christmas trees and Easter eggs what they like and I agree people should too.

It's just a personal preference of mine that I dislike businesses bowing down to peer pressure or political correctness (which I don't think is the case in this situation).
I'm an atheist but I can't stand other atheists being smug about purposefully saying holiday instead of Christmas or things of that nature. Telling stories that go something along the lines of "you should have seen the look on that old Christian lady's face when I said 'happy holidays'.
Things like that seem petty to me, but again, it's just a personal preference.

Does that count, or should I sober up before posting? Consider

Also, Easter is April 16th. I learned that yesterday. I'm kinda proud of my sociability rn. Big Grin

The only thing I celebrate on easter is a leg of lamb roasted on a spit. I beat you by 3 days as to when easter comes, but only because I wanted to be sure to have that delicious leg ready for the roasting. Drooling

Who would name their lamma Eli (unless it was a Jewish lamma), or Sabachthani ?
Now a Vally Lamma, I could see.

All the holidays I know of (US/Christian) have there roots in the far distant past. All are biased on pagan rituals. With the possible acceptation of MLK day.[Image: mdRjZLV.gif?zoom=2]

Today is the best day of my life and tomorrow will be even better.

I don't think MLK is technically a Christian holiday nor from the far distant past.

What are you talking about?

We are aware that a lot of things within Christian beliefs and celebrations have their roots or at least some aspects that came from the Pagan.
