Egor posted something pretty interesting.
Here he describes single celled organisms and his conclusion that they have a soul.

Pretty well thought out.

What do y'all think?

The contention that all living things possess a soul I have heard from Hindus. From this kinda thing I have concluded that morality is chemical intelligence and symptomatic of life. A while back. But no one listens to me 'cause I ain't a disruptive, egotistical, self-serving theist. Tongue

Try this.

No soul required.

RE: Egor posted something pretty interesting.
Well that conclusion is not linked to his premise at all.

They can make decisions.
Therefore, they have a soul.

No, not really. They can learn through a variety of natural processes, like distinguishing using different light levels. I'm no biologist but yea I think the report given above explains it.

Sapere aude! Have courage to use your own understanding!
Take the risk of thinking for yourself, much more happiness, truth, beauty, and wisdom will come to you that way.

Quote:When I took microbiology in college, one of our assignments was to view protozoa in pond water. What I saw was paramecium and other critters swimming around looking for food in amongst the iny bits of algae. Then I realized something that changed my life. I realized I was looking at proof of the existence of a soul.
This is the equivalent of saying
"When I looked in the mirror, I saw all my theology and ideology staring back at me, this changed my life. I was looking at proof that I was right all along. It is now my mission to tell the world about my theology and ideology, they must learn the Truth."

Wait, does that mean I'm sending spiders to hell when I kill them? GOOD! Little bastards deserve it.

Better without God, and happier too.

Well, I didn't say I agree with it or that it's correct. I just think it's pretty well written and it's a point of view that I've never considered before and somewhat unique.

I just found it interesting.
