Electrical Contractor's Nightmare
It seemed like a good idea at the time -------

Decided to strip the old electrical system in our equipment barn (where we keep tractors and such) --- it'd been done by my dad as a teenager in the late 40's -- so it did need upgrading.....

One thing I didn't think about - was stringing the new Romax.. (The bundled wire) The normal procedure is to put them up with staples that you drive in by hand with a hammer........

That works fine on freshly installed pine studs and rafters.......

Not so much - on 80 year old seasoned OAK......

You can't drive a staple into this shit without it folding up.

Solution???

You have to drill two holes for each staple.

It's slowing things down JUST a bit....

These might work better than staples...

Even better, use these and a screw. Less likely the screws will fall out as the wood ages...

Could you band it on open posts and beams?

I've recently grown rudimentary legs and am now making the move from water to land.

About 90 percent done -- did it all with the staples... I gotta run to town and get another box.....

It should be worth it...

Originally there was 2 overhead lights in a 15 x 80 foot shed. No outlets...

Now 12 overhead LED lights and 8 outlets......

And a fuse box.. Wasn't one before -- just the box in the next building.....

(yeah fuses -- I had a box laying around)

I have used those quite a bit - and do like 'em better than staples...

I ran out of staples and have to pick up more -- I'll probably get some of the plastic strap....
