With some words, yes. On the other hand they do have a tendency to just take a bunch of words and remove the space betwixt them to come up with an intimidating looking word for no good reason. I mild example is hinaufsteigen, which looks way more intimidating than hinauf steigen. It's also the only example I can think of off the top of my head, but it gets worse. Much, much worse.

Hope I spelt that right.

RE: English is a strange language.
I set a chair so I can sit and relax to set myself at ease, watching as the sun sets. The sky is looking as though it were set alight in flames. Letting the wine set for a bit, a campfire is set. I haven't the need for entertainment from television sets as my eyes are set on the setting sun. The moon risen, set seemingly fixed low in the sky, glistening like silver. I can tell the set of my mind is clouded, made blurry by alcohol, but I'm not dead set on stopping just yet. Peaceful beauty such as this can set a broken heart, let it heal and rest so it will not set itself up again; it must be savored. The sun sets twice, not wanting to say goodnight just yet, though it does, gradually. A chill sets in the air as the stars start shining, so I get up and set on food towards my cabin, to get set for bed.

It's kinda cool that a minute is so very minute. Shy

I think in the end, I just feel like I'm a secular person who has a skeptical eye toward any extraordinary claim, carefully examining any extraordinary evidence before jumping to conclusions. ~ Eric ~ My friend ... who figured it out.

RE: English is a strange language.
The nice thing about romanced languages is that you can usually learn how to speak the language from the written language. Where when greek and other letters are involved since they are foreign to us our brains can not speak their words. That's why I've said you know two languages if you can write and speak one 'language'

For example

había una fiesta en mis pantalones alors j'ai engagé une prostituée pour prendre soin d'elle und nein furher war gegeban dass tag

You'll most likely be able to pronounce that with minimal defects.

I suspect that those who know the greek letters might be able to pronounce russian words.
