Don't you think that raises the prospect of duress and enticement.

This law blurs the line of moral responsibility and age of consent.

No it does not. It is no different than any other legal matter involving children and this law has a lot of hoops you must jump through. This is intended for terminally sick children who are in extreme pain to have a dignified end of life option. You have not, of course, even looked at this law you read the poll and are off fantasizing your stupid slippery slope bullshit. Go look at the law and report back which parts you like and don't like.

I have stated the part I don't like - children being conferred with an implied ability to give wilful consent to their own death/suicide.

People scoff at the warnings about a moral slippery slope but what barrier exists between the argument that a child can consent to their own suicide and the argument that a child can consent to sex with an adult - eg. someone they trust.

Wasnt Belgium the headquarters for a massive child pornography syndicate uncovered a couple of years ago?

No that was Vatican city. If someone went through as many legal hurdles as it takes to satisfy this law and can prove competence then they would be able to consent to sex with an adult. In most places an underaged person (ussually there is a minimum age) can wed with parental consent in some states as young as 12 so it seems you know nothing, as per usual.

Are you aware that parents can complement kids consent in almost every aspect of their legal life?

Seriously, are you that ignorant of the law?

I already know about the sorts of things parents consent to have done to their children.
This is about what CHILDREN can legally consent to.

Legally nothing without parental consent or an order from a judge acting In loco parentis. Which of course is the same as every legal situation involving a child.

RE: Euthanasia in Belgium: children's right to die
I'm concerned for a few reasons. The child can be manipulated or even tricked into opting for euthanasia. Second, toddlers have no sense of time. They can't understand once they're euthanized, they're gone forever. Third, what are they going to do with babies?

I support Belgium's decision because it's humane. I just believe there are grey areas that need to be addressed.
