How the fuck should I know! It had never even crossed my mind someone might think this was a religious song, until I came across a comment or something and then realised it wasn't an isolated case. I guess religionists think that only sky daddy can comfort us or something. After all, we all know that according to them people are worthless sinners. Dodgy

It actually sickens me, because the lyrics are beautiful and saying it's about god's love is like saying the love of human beings for each other is worthless or inferior. Screw that.

Well, you've got to admit.... Art Garfunkel does have that angelic voice. Angel

I love some good choral african gospel pieces (the choirs! Amazing singing, amazing voices) but I always feel awkward with the Jesus Jesus. The religion part in that did not come as a surprise though...
But hey, give this a listen and tell me it's not good:

I don't mind religious themes in music, though. Sleepy

Stupid, I know, but that only comes to show that people mostly see what they want to see. But even back then I never thought that Bridge Over Troubled Waters was a religious song. Still don't. And it annoys me when brainwashed folk try to tell me it is. It's a lovely song and I wish they wouldn't sully it with their stupidity.

When you're weary, feeling small
When tears are in your eyes, I'll dry them all (all)
I'm on your side, oh, when times get rough
And friends just can't be found
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down

When you're down and out
When you're on the street
When evening falls so hard
I will comfort you (ooo)
I'll take your part, oh, when darkness comes
And pain is all around
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down

Sail on silver girl
Sail on by
Your time has come to shine
All your dreams are on their way
See how they shine
Oh, if you need a friend
I'm sailing right behind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind
Even when this was a hit, I didn't see it as a religious song...and I was about 13 when it came out and a good little Catholic school girl (well maybe not all that good). You know, it never occurred to me to take it that way.

See here they are, the bruises, some were self-inflicted and some showed up along the way. - JF

Yes, everything by Fallstar. These guys are awesome as musicians and as people, but they're really really, REALLY religious.

There's this christian band I found back when I still kinda sorta believed in god...

And there's this weird version of a very popular gospel song...

Don't FUUUUUU, my friend. Enjoy the music!

Honestly, there's so much shit in culture today relating to God in some how it's just easier to be surprised when it's NOT about God.

I don't talk gay, I don't walk gay, it's like people don't even know I'm gay unless I'm blowing them.

Yeaheaaa she talks to angels
Says they all know her name
Yeaheaaa she galks to angles
They call her out by her name

If you don't love that song just because it's about a crazy chick who thinks she see angles then you are an idiot.

Pretty much.

Also it annoys me when you hear a sad song, and suddenly the lyrics are all like "I know God will help me/give me strength/sees me" ect
I can ruin an entire song for me, simply because I can't relate to it a all.
