Are you saying that there is a context where the Israelites raping and pillaging is acceptable? Are you saying that in any context raping and pillaging of anyone is acceptable?

Even, if, and i say if, the Israelites "only raped back": How do you reconcile this with an omnibenevolent god?
If i see somebody raping somebody else, i stop him. I dont ask "did he rape you or someone else before?" or "Is he a bad person?". Thats the difference between me and your god.

RE: Everybodies wrong.
From your link:

Quote:A basic knowledge of Canaanite culture reveals its inherent moral wickedness. The Canaanites were a brutal, aggressive people who engaged in bestiality, incest, and even child sacrifice.

Lot and his daughters? Incest.
Abraham and Sarah? Incest.
Aggressive people? Ask the Amalekites and Midianites, etc. etc.
Abraham and Isaac? Child Sacrifice.

FFS, this is beyond pathetic. Did the person who wrote this even read the bible?

This is a sampling of the apologetic trash from your link:
Quote:God and God alone can give life, and God alone has the right to take it whenever He so chooses.

Without the protection and support of their parents, the infants and small children were likely to face death anyway due to starvation.

Finally, the children of Canaan would have likely grown up as followers of the same evil religions their parents had practiced.

And the shit icing on the shit cake:

Quote:It’s also worth considering the eternal state of those infants killed in Canaan. If God took them before the age of moral accountability, then they went straight to heaven (as we believe). Those children are in a far better place than if they had lived into adulthood as Canaanites.

The sheer level of hypocrisy is physically nauseating.

Freedom offers opportunity. Opportunity confers responsibility. Responsibility to use the freedom we enjoy wisely, honestly and humanely. ~ Noam Chomsky

Let's review the biblical moral lesson:

1. It's ok to kill anyone that's not of your religion.
2. It's even better when you kill them while they're young.

The cold compassion of Christianity, rears it's ugly head once again......

RE: Everybodies wrong.
Its not hypocrisy, its complete and utter moral bankruptcy.

Suggesting that its ok to kill innocent children because they go to heaven is so sick, i have no words for it. Killing children arguing they would take revenge for killing their parents, is mafiaesque, and -again- i cant say how disgusting.

Giving up your humanity for this...i really dont know how anyone can lower himself to such a stage of barbarism and inhumanity in times where we know so much better than this. There is absolutely no excuse for making (or letting others make you) such a monster out of ones self.

And did god not make them evil? After all he made the universe and everything in it. I’ve heard a lot of people say that, and I read it in some popular websites so it MUST be true.

I see you are avoiding unpleasant questions.

Is it ok to rape and pillage evil people? Is it ok to "conquer" (rape, kill steal, enslave) from evil people. Is it ok to kill the children of "evil" people? What do you personally think?
