What about discovering how to harness or develop energy for propulsion?

How can anyone become an atheist when we are all born with no beliefs in the first place? We are atheists because we were born this way.

Ah, so that's where you were going. Let us first consider a hypothetical. Would my omission of certain topics in my brief post constitute, to you, evidence that I failed to see them? Would that not be painfully ironic given the topic of the thread?

You see, the post of mine which you were responding to constituted only my reaction to your blatant dishonesty. It made no claim as to what I thought of anything else. I have previously disagreed strongly with Free on the nature of evidence and proof; I don't recall ever discussing the topic at any length with BeardedDude.

Lastly, however, if you are trying to actually discuss something, it would be better to make it explicit, instead of settling for chickenshit allusions.

What blatant dishonesty?

1 + 1 = 2.

Do you believe it?

yes

Hey, whatever wins me that prize money.

But I'm not sure what you mean by that? All propulsion is a transformation of energy!

Actually, energy storage is a more interesting problem to me; superconductivity theoretically admits of indefinitely lossless reservoirs. And since peak demand is both the limiting factor in power infrastructure and a major source of loss, while simultaneously the largest drawback of existing renewable generation methods...

You used different words, but the meaning and implications are the same.

They aren't the same. That is the straw man. You are assuming you know something about what I actually did say, and you twist it into what you want.

If the man you're directly quoting says that he didn't mean what you're saying he meant, that's generally taken as a sign to reconsider your representation of him.

You do of course understand that faith and belief are synonymous?

That's rather an overstatement. Consider

I said I disagreed with the one statement you quoted.

Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.

No, they're not.

Faith is belief without evidence.

Don't speak for Chas.

He said he doesn't agree with things we differ on. He expresses opinions.
