Evidence of Massive Thermonuclear Explosions in Mars Past
Eh wot??? Unsure

What's going on here?

Evidence of Massive Thermonuclear Explosions in Mars Past, The Cydonian Hypothesis, and Fermi's Paradox

Quote:Analysis of recent Mars isotopic, gamma ray, and imaging data supports the hypothesis that perhaps two immense thermonuclear explosions occurred on Mars in the distant past and these explosions were targeted on sites of previously reported artifacts. Analysis rules out large unstable ``natural nuclear reactors'' [1], instead, data is consistent with mixed fusion-fission explosions [2]. Imagery at the radioactive centers of the explosions shows no craters, consistent with ``airbursts.'' Explosions appear correlated with the sites of reported artifacts at Cydonia Mensa and Galaxias Chaos [3], Analysis of new images from Odyssey, MRO and Mars Express orbiters now show strong evidence of eroded archeological objects at these sites. Taken together, the data requires that the hypothesis of Mars as the site of an ancient planetary nuclear massacre, must now be considered. Fermi's Paradox, the unexpected silence of the stars, may be solved at Mars. Providentially, we are forewarned of this possible aspect of the cosmos. The author therefore advocates that a human mission to Mars is mounted immediately to maximize knowledge of what occurred.

Is this a hoax?

Er, your pot is cracked...or should I be saying this to Starck?

I have a teesny weensy hint. The article was written by an employee of "Moringstar Physics LLC" ... "a mission should be mounted immediately... bla bla bla".
What ? The annual profits don't look so good, and there's a board meeting coming up ? Laugh out load

Insufferable know-it-all.Einstein God has a plan for us. Please stop screwing it up with your prayers.

The original link was posted on Facebook from a retweet by some AI scientist. The website looks genuine so I'm wondering how this managed to slip through the net. Googling MorningStar Applied Physics brings up this which rings even more alarm bells.

Bah! That's old news. It's been known to UFO theorists like me for years.

It all started over a dam stick of gum, a rubber mallet, and some treasured and rare form of peanut butter made by some obscure company known as Scarlet Eve.

Somebody on Mars threw a rubber mallet at some other guy, hit him in the mouth while he was chewing gum and forced him to spit the gum out and into a jar of peanut butter.

This escalated into a thermonuclear war between the gum chewers and the peanut butter fanatics.

2 escaped, male and female. One was A dam gum chewer, and the other a scarlet Eve employee.

And the rest you already know ...

Drinking Beverage

Nonsense, it was two races, the Thals and the Kaleds whose ancient civilisations were reduced to nothing but two cities by decades of war.

RE: Evidence of Massive Thermonuclear Explosions in Mars Past
I like it how they conclude that a human mission to Mars should be mounted immediately, like all the supposed evidence is going to get blown away by solar winds and you need humans there in orbit to do the science.

I'm wondering if the chair of "Session G1: Astrophysics, Cosmology and Astronomy II" is having a mid-life crisis nervous break down* and is bored doing the same old thing for the rest of his life and so has invited a crackpot to the session so they can all throw things at him.

(*Yeah right, like anyone can ever get proper funding any more before they're middle aged)
