Yes. Living in the bible belt and in a Catholic family, sometimes I desperately need that breath of fresh air.

Welcome to the Light Side. Glad you landed on your feet. Best decision you ever made, other than not marrying that asshole rapist.

Check out my now-defunct atheism blog. It's just a blog, no ads, no revenue, no gods.

LOL - I have never ever doubted that I made the best decision. My father, for as Catholic as he is, says that he was never prouder of me than when I made that decision.

I have a priest as an uncle. LOL He walks into the room and says "Still not believing in god?" To which I reply "Still praying on your knees?"

My family is accepting.

Hello and Salutations my fellow Heritic!

I really sorry to hear what you've gone threw. It's not fair. But at least it sounds like you persevered. It takes a strong person to deal with such hardships.

I'm also a former Catholic. When ever you feel like a chat we're here. You'll meet some very intelligent and insightful people here. JennyBee is usally buzzing around she's a former Catholic as well. She's usually the first to greet new faces. Enjoy your time here.

I am also a former catholic who has not gone through the horrible experience you have gone trough. I am sorry you did have to go through the rape and abuse. The priest's response??? Is it any surprise there are angry atheists and as Greta Christina said, not angry for anything done to us personally but to others. You are so strong! Welcome.

What a welcoming community here. If I would have known about this earlier I would have been here. It really would have helped at certain times.

There's really no surprise that people are angry. I was for awhile, to be honest. I'm not anymore. I am in a great place mentally at this point. I look back at myself and I don't even know that girl anymore.

Thanks for the welcoming message.
