Experience with UU?
I'm curious if anyone here is a member of, or has partaken of a UU church. I grew up in a rural (read wood floors, bathroom "addition", and lay leader) Methodist church. I've long since cast this off, and never enjoyed being preached to, but do enjoy lectures and debate.

As i look through my list of friends it occurred to me that most of my friends are friends because of mutual interests (mostly hobbies), not ideological, or philosophical. I would enjoy a public meeting of open-minded people to discuss things with, and i would enjoy being a part of a community again. My question is, how "churchy" is the UU normally? Reading over the local UU churches website, they seem very ritual, highly spiritual, highly open minded, but very "church-light" ish...

Any personal experience?
