Expired Creatine
Wasn't sure where to put this, but it's in the interest of health, so I guess this works.

I was going through my cabinets yesterday and I found a nice big bottle of Creatine pills from GNC Pro Performance. I had apparently forgotten it was in there. I was super stoked until I looked on the side of the bottle and read that it was "Best by: July 2011"

Now, it was "best" by then. So, though I have hinted that it's expired, the bottle doesn't precisely say that. And even though it was 2 years ago, I figure the chemical compound should still have the same effects, right? I mean, it's not a medication that can lose its potency. It's an organic acid that has specific effects upon the body. Would it just lose its qualities because it sat in a cabinet for 2 years? If so, to what extent?

I haven't taken creatine in a while and I'd like to start again, but I'd like not to waste what could be a perfectly good bottle of a few hundred pills. At the same time, I'd also not like to down a bunch of placebos every day.

They still good?

If it was stored well, and no moisture seeped into the product, I'd say it's O.K.
But I'm not an chemist, so check with someone else, too!

RE: Expired Creatine
If the stuff has the chance of making you fat (the creatine not working, and the rest of the ingredients doing so) I think you should stay away from it. They have a shelf life of under 2 years.

Googling, I found that creatine has a shelf-life of 36 months from date of manufacture.

Alright, let's mix things up a bit...

Just found another bottle in my desk that's "best by" 2014...but it was opened about a year ago. Undecided

He's been locked away at the mansion trying to "find himself".
